What drives Toronto prices
Toronto is Canada's largest city and freight market, and it sits on Highway 401, the busiest highway in North America, along with the 400 series network. The city has no refinery of its own, so diesel is trucked or piped in from Sarnia, Nanticoke, and Montreal. That supply arrangement keeps Toronto's diesel running above the refining centres. The 400 series network moves freight through the city and across the region, and the price at the pump carries the cost of bringing fuel in from elsewhere.
