Who to write to
Northern Mile Media is an independent publication covering North American trucking. It is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any carrier, broker, fuel retailer or industry association. Nobody pays for a number on this site.
That is the whole business model and it is worth stating plainly: a figure here is published because a government agency published it, and it is corrected in public when it is wrong. Nothing on the dashboard is sponsored into existence, and no sponsor sees a number before you do.
What we will answer
If a number looks wrong, say which page and which figure and we will trace it to the source and tell you what we find, including when the answer is that we are right. Corrections are logged with the date and both values, never quietly swapped.
If you want the method behind a figure rather than the figure, the methodology page carries every source, the roll-up arithmetic, and a dated revision history of everything that has changed. The press page has a copy-paste citation for any figure on the site.
What we will not do
We will not sell a rate forecast, an exclusive number, or a favourable reading. If you need a figure we do not publish, the honest answer is that we do not have it, not that we will make one.
