Northern MileBorder wait time trends
Average, 75th percentile, and 90th percentile for each Canada–US crossing, from the CBSA archive. The P90 shows what the top 10% of waits look like — that is the risk you carry.
The last column is the American side and it measures something different: the current CBP commercial wait, taken today and stated in each port's own time. CBSA publishes a history, which is what the percentiles are built from. CBP publishes only the reading now, so the two are not averaged and should not be read as a single figure.
Border wait times vary by time of day, day of week, and which port you're using. This page aggregates every CBSA record we've collected into typical patterns so you can plan your crossing rather than guessing.
Ambassador Bridge is the highest-volume Canada-US land crossing and also carries the most delay risk. Blue Water Bridge and Pacific Highway tend to be lighter but surge during peak hours or when trucker parking fills up near the terminals. Peace and Queenston bridges carry less commercial traffic and often run under five minutes outside of rush windows.
The P75 and P90 columns tell you what the top quartile and decile look like respectively. If you see "P90: 45 min" for Ambassador Bridge, that means in ten out of every hundred recordings through that port, the wait was 45 minutes or more. That's the number you plan around, not the average.
We pull from CBSA's public JSON feed once per deploy cycle. Each deployment adds one row per active crossing to the history, currently spanning from mid-August 2026 with roughly daily observation points across nine ports. More data means sharper patterns — this page gets more useful as it ages.
